Jessica Biel does for Vogue Magazine-February 2010 issue!

January 19th, 2010 at 01:03pm Under Jessica Biel

The drama queen of 7th Heaven Jessica Biel, 27 appears on the pages of Vogue Magazine - February 2010 issue. She spills all sorts of interesting things. Check out the highlights of the interview.

On moving with her mom to L.A. for pilot season: "It was stressful, for sure: my mom leaving my brother when he was so little for months at a time; my dad having to deal on his own. Sometimes I look back and think, God, you guys were crazy for letting some twelve-year-old do what she wanted. I mean, they did everything for me."

On posing nearly nude on the cover of Gear, just shy of her 18th birthday: "I really wanted to go to college, and it all kind of happened at the same time. I did this photo shoot; the photo shoot came out; it was terribly embarrassing. I had to apologize to everybody, including my parents. It was a big learning experience: learning how to have boundaries and how to say no."

On young starlets today: "I have this overwhelming motherly feeling toward them. Just do what you gotta do, girls! Hold it together! I wish everyone would just leave them alone."

On the recession: "The last year in this business has been harsh. There’s no material. Nobody wants to make dramas. And that’s what we all want to do."

"[Movies now are] commercial movies - horror movies, big romantic comedies, and action movies. Those can be great, but you don’t want to do only those kinds of films. You can’t live on éclairs alone. You have to have a spinach salad every now and again."

On her relationship with Justin Timberlake: "I don’t want to talk about it. I don’t feel the need to clear anything up. It’s the most precious thing that I have in my life, and I care about it so much that I don’t care about what anyone says or thinks. I have just not addressed it in any real way, and I’m not going to. It’s mine. And I really like that about it."

On her self -image: "When I see myself in pictures with makeup on, even to this day, I think it looks weird. My eyes get squintier and smaller. On the red carpet, I’m playing a character. As soon as I get off that thing I think, Oof, wipe that gloss off. I’m wiping and wiping and pulling my hair out and trying to change my outfit. I’m immediately trying to get comfortable. It’s really a part I play."

On honoring her family: "My grandmother, whom we call Biel, thinks it’s very unbecoming of me not to smile for the paparazzi. So every time I see them I think, Smile for Biel!" Source: Vogue Mag.

Rachel McAdams: Mean Girl Turned Sexy Sleuth

December 17th, 2009 at 03:53pm Under Celebrity News

The Hot Chick actress Rachel McAdams, 31, appears on the pages of Vogue Magazine January 2010 Issue. The star of the highly anticipated Sherlock Holmes gives Sally Singer a peek into her very private life. Her article and interview in Vogue Magazine January 2010 is titled: Mean Girl Turned Sexy Sleuth.  Photographed by Mario Testino and Cover fashion: Dolce & Gabbana.

“Such a brilliant actress—not like Meryl, but she has that kind of intelligence. That brain is substantial, and if you have that along with a face you can’t take your eyes off, it’s so compelling. It’s rare.”—Diane Keaton on Rachel McAdams. The Canadian actress is really one of the rare beauties!

Highlights from the article:

On Mean Girls, which was shot in Toronto, and Lindsay Lohan?

"I just remember marveling about how much she knew as an actor, how much she understood. She did very few takes and had this naturalness to her. And beyond that, I was 26 at the time. I’d be asked, ‘Where do you go out?’ " (McAdams throws her hands up in bafflement and defeat.) "I felt like I was in a different place at that time."

The actress on being green:

“I don’t really desire things, I prefer to spend my money on experiences, on meals or travel. . . . I look at the world through a green lens now. But you can’t make yourself crazy. That feeling of green guilt can be really inhibiting. It’s about a changing mind-set, remembering to turn off the water when you are brushing your teeth.”

McAdams describes her perfect day:

“1995, on the sofa: ‘I grew up watching so much television. I was really into soap operas. I’d begin with Days of our Lives, then Another World, and finish off with General Hospital. And before dinner I’d watch Oprah. I would fake sick all the time to the point where I’d convince myself I was sick. In high school I really didn’t pay attention. I took the bare minimum to get by.” Read More on: Vogue Mag.

Christopher Kane tired and exhausted after his fashion show

September 23rd, 2009 at 02:44pm Under Celebrity News

Christopher Kane almost burnt his house down after his fashion show on Monday (21.09.09).

The Scottish designer - who has made costumes for Kylie Minogue - was extremely tired and hungry after showcasing his latest designs at London Fashion Week but his boyfriend’s attempts at feeding them nearly ended in disaster.

He said: "I was knackered when we got back to the flat so I went to bed. My boyfriend put a pizza in the oven, because we were all starving, but then he fell asleep too. I woke up and thought, ‘Why can I smell burning pastry?’ It was the pizza and there was smoke everywhere. It’s OK now but I still haven’t eaten. I’m starving."

Christopher is also looking forward to having a relaxing holiday in the next few weeks.

He explained to Vogue.com: "Well, we’ll show the collection this week to a few key people and then we’re off to Paris for sales. There’s a lot to do just now but in a few weeks we’ll go on holiday. I don’t know where yet - I don’t care really, as long as it’s hot!"

Star Studded Crowd at Burberry show

September 23rd, 2009 at 01:57pm Under Emma Watson+ Gwyneth Paltrow+ Victoria Beckham

Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham, Liv Tyler and Emma Watson were among the stars who watched the Burberry show at London Fashion Week yesterday (22.09.09).

The event closed the womenswear previews, and attracted a host of famous faces from Hollywood actresses to legendary photographers and famous magazine editors.

Models Twiggy, Agyness Deyn and Daisy Lowe, photographer Mario Testino, actress-and-designer Mary-Kate Olsen, TV presenter Alexa Chung, actress Freida Pinto, actor Dev Patel, US Vogue editor Anna Wintour and French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld all sat front row.

The show marked Burberry’s first at London Fashion Week for 10 years, with the brand deciding not to show in Milan as usual to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of the UK capital’s fashion week.

Burberry Prorsum - Latin for forward - showed the iconic trench coat for which the brand is famed.

It came down the runway in gabardine, as well as silk satin, leather and suede, and in shades of pink, lavender, silver and gold.

Keen to add his own stamp to the iconic piece, designer Christopher Bailey shortened it to mid-thigh and added puff sleeves.

Also featured were short skirts of silk chiffon, cashmere jumpers, leggings and skill trousers.

Gwyneth said after the show: "London is where it’s at. It inspires the world."

Anna was also quick to praise the event, saying: "This is a great night for London."

Other designers to show yesterday included Amanda Wakeley, Fashion East, Basso and Brooke and Jonathan Saunders.

Victoria Beckham in London for a special Fashion Week dinner by Vogue Magazine

September 22nd, 2009 at 03:31pm Under Claudia Schiffer+ Naomi Campbell+ Victoria Beckham

The former Spice Girl-turned-designer Victoria Beckham wore a stunning tricolor off-the-shoulder dress from her own collection to the event at Le Caprice, hosted by British Vogue magazine editor Alexandra Shulman, with Net-A-Porter.com to celebrate 25 years of the famous fashion event.

Other stars in attendance included supermodels Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer, presenter Alexa Chung and rising catwalk stars Pixie Geldof and Daisy Lowe.

Earlier in the day, Vivienne Westwood was among designers showing their spring/summer 2010 collections to the fashion world.

Her more budget-friendly second-tier line, Red Label, saw cinched waistlines, boating stripes, florals and silk brocade showcased by modern rural-themed models, chewing straw and clutching copies of Vogue while walking to overloud techno music.

The contrasting settings showcased the garments perfectly, ensuring they were a hit with the crowd, which included Joss Stone, Boy George, Geri Halliwell and Tracey Emin.

Christopher Kane failed to disappoint with his checked collection.

The Scottish designer sent pretty tablecloth-style checked dresses down the runway, made more daring with cut out and sheeted panels strategically placed on the gowns, washed-out checked pencil skirts were also a hit, as were the floaty, layered chiffon gowns.

Citing 1970s sitcom ‘The Brady Bunch’ and raunchy movie ‘Lolita’ as his inspirations, the designer himself said the collection was “a bit pervy”.

He added: “It’s slightly sickly sweet compared to last season, which was a bit demented.”

Anna Wintour feels sorry for upcoming fashion designers

September 21st, 2009 at 09:42am Under Celebrity News

The  US Vogue editor Anna Wintour – who is regarded as one of the most influential voices in the fashion world – empathizes with new stylists and designers because the fashion market is currently swamped with impressive talent.
She said: “Now is not an easy time to start as a young designer – unless you are very special and dedicated, and not afraid of hard work.”
The magazine chief says upcoming designers must question their determination and longevity before committing to a fashion career as it is growing increasingly difficult to become an established name in the industry.
She explained to Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper: “Talent is obviously important. But you need someone with personality, too, someone who is willing to listen. A designer really needs to spend five or 10 years learning the craft, learning the business. Sometimes you can get someone who has become a huge star overnight, but it is so rare that it works. Sometimes a lack of understanding, a certain naivety about the business can be refreshing, but it so often doesn’t work. People can get carried away with what is new and young and different, but unless you are someone like Marc Jacobs, you should think long and hard. So many are struggling.”

Karl Lagerfeld Praises witty , young & cool Lily Allen

September 17th, 2009 at 02:39pm Under Lily Allen

Karl Lagerfeld asked Lily Allen to front his latest collection because she is "young, cool and extremely witty".

The creative director of Chanel - who will launch their new Coco Cocoon line in two weeks - asked the outspoken British singer to appear in the advertising campaign because of her lifestyle and sense of humour.

He said: "I love Lily Allen. She looks a lot like Gabrielle Chanel and she is a self-made woman. She is cool, young and extremely witty."

The pair recently posed in front of the cameras with the brand’s new luxury range of sportswear bags for a promotional drive.

Karl - who has worked for Chanel since 1983 - was surprised by how "fun" the occasion was.

He explained to Vogue.com: "Photographing her for this advertising campaign was fantastic fun. She is extremely inspiring and is completely taken with the bags - with her typical English reserve."

The Cocoon collection features a range of purses, wallets, toiletry bags and shopping, bowling and trolley bags, clutch evening handbags and keyrings.

Items are based around a black, beige, chocolate, burgundy, taupe, blue, grey, gold and red colour palette
