Chace Crawford claims that he is not an unattractive young man, he call himself "Hot Boy"
Before he landed film and TV work, the Gossip Girl star famously supported himself as a corny catalog model in Dallas.
He tells Women’s Wear Daily: "I hated modeling, I’m not ignorant to the fact that part of the reason why [Gossip Girl]’s popular and part of the reason [why] people want to see it is to be like, ‘Oh, novelty boy! Hot boy! Pretty boy’"
But he doesn’t mind: "That’s all fine and good," he says. "It is what it is."
Crawford hopes to parlay his TV stardom into big-league film gigs. He says that he’d like to model his career after other former "novelty boys" Brad Pitt, Leonardo Dicaprio, Tom Cruise and Paul Newman. For now, though, he’s attached to cut loose in the lead role of a remake of the 1980s classic Footloose.

Gossip Girl’s Joanna Garcia admits, "Crawford is even more gorgeous “when you get to know him."
Garcia, 30, will play Nate’s on-screen love interest Bree for four episodes in the upcoming fall season, which premieres Monday on the CW (9 p.m. EST).
“This role is a little bit of a departure for me because I’m used to playing characters in funny roles. This is a lot sexier, so it’s definitely nice to have a good partner in my scenes to make me feel sexy and desirable.”
Of kissing Crawford, Garcia says, “It’s everything you could imagine and more.” But, she points out, Crawford is even more gorgeous “when you get to know him.”
“He’s such a nice guy and a total dude,” Garcia told People Magazine. “He’s ready to have a cocktail and kick back and watch sports. And as beautiful as he is on the outside, he’s ten times more beautiful on the inside.”
Does she have anything to say to the millions of jealous fans who wish they could be in her place? “They’re always asking me what it’s like [to kiss Chace],” Garcia says. “And I’m like, ‘Well, it’s not like I slip my tongue down his throat every day.’”

Continuing work on the fall season of “Gossip Girl,” Chace Crawford was spotted arriving to the New York City set on Monday (August 3).
The Nate Archibald actor looked a little tuckered out as he strolled up to the paparazzi sporting a blue shirt with distressed jeans and a flopsy hairdo.
Perhaps the reason for Crawford’s fatigue is his new training regimen for his upcoming role in the “Footloose” remake. In a recent interview he told press that he’s already preparing for the March shoot.
"We don’t start shooting until March, but I started getting into some training. I’m going to need the whole nine months to really get to where I need to be. I have some movement and I’m really happy to learn a lot of new stuff, but I’m counting on the magical editing to make me look really good! But they put me through a screen test, which was pretty rigorous, so I must have the foundation for it."
