Kate & Shakira at Bambi Awards -2009

The Bambi is the German Film Industry’s highest award. The 2009 Bambi awarding ceremony was held at Filmpark Babelsberg yesterday, November 26, 2009, in Potsdam, Germany.

  Kate Winslet was the brightest star at Bambi where she won the International Actress award. It was presented to her by her fellow artist in their 2008 movie “The Reader” Bruno Ganz. Bruno played Professor Rohl while Kate played Hanna Schmitz, a German woman with a secret Nazi past. But she had glammed up her outfit with a bit of bling.
The actress’s dress not only had sequined shoulders, but she carried a clutch bag emblazoned with her initials in jewels. The dress, which clung to her curves at the rear, also had a cut-away back covered in lace.

 The 34-year-old was honored as ‘an actress who doesn’t just slip into her roles but rather puts herself into the soul of her roles’.

She struggled to hold up the 3.6 kg Bambi made of bronze and 18-carat gold at the ceremony broadcast live on German TV. She said: "This is very heavy so I’m going to put this down."

When it comes to music, the famous Colombian singer Shakira take home the “International Pop” award which was awarded by the famous heavy metal/hard rock band -Scorpions.

The 32-year-old arrived in a turquoise and grey Versace mini-dress, before changing into a black and grey metallic creation for her performance of Did It Again.
