The ‘Harry Potter’ star contracted a bug while in the US and was forced to spend two days in a New York medical facility being treated for dehydration.
The 20-year-old star caught a flight home to the UK on Saturday (06.03.10), and reportedly filled in fellow passengers with the details about his embarrassing stomach upset. A passenger on the same plane told The Sun newspaper: "He looked as white as a sheet. He said he felt like he was going to die and had spent most of his time on the toilet."
The actor had been in the country to support the Trevor Project, a non-profit US suicide prevention charity which works with young gay and transgender people. Daniel had previously spoken about why he’d lent his face to the project, which runs a 24 hour helpline. He said: "I grew up knowing a lot of gay men and it was never something that I even thought twice about - that some men were gay and some weren’t. And then I went to school and for the first time and I came across homophobia. I had never encountered it before. It shocked me. "I think it’s important for somebody from a big, commercial movie series like ‘Harry Potter’ and particularly because I am not gay or bisexual or transgendered. The fact that I am straight makes not a difference, but it shows that straight people are incredibly interested and care a lot about this as well.”

The 60-year-actress, who has won two Academy Awards and is nominated for another this year, is pleased with the way her career has panned out, even though she isn’t a fan of all her work.
She said: “I feel very privileged, very lucky and very happy, though I don’t think that every film I’ve ever done is brilliant.
“I’m not a producer – I just take interesting things that have come along.”
Meryl also admits she wanted to take a break following her last movie ‘It’s Complicated’ with Alec Baldwin. She said: “Since finishing my last film I feel the need to stop for a moment and breathe, because I’ve worked so very hard in the last two and a half years."
“I’d usually make one film a year, maybe two, then two years would go by with no films and now I’ve just made seven back to back. “Sometimes if you give that much you have to settle it down and let the field go fallow for one year, like the farmers do.”

The group’s guitarist Keith Richards wouldn’t "be surprised" if he and his bandmates - singer Sir Mick Jagger, guitarist Ronnie Wood and drummer Charlie Watts - return to the studio in the near future.
He said: "There are no definite plans for an album, but I can’t see any of us stopping. I wouldn’t be surprised if we did some recording later this year."
However, the rocker is unsure whether the group will go out on the road in support of new material, and has definitely ruled out any stadium shows in 2010.
He added to Rolling Stone magazine: "I don’t know how the rest of them feel about roadwork at the moment. Maybe we’ll search for a different way for The Stones to go back on the road. Maybe not the stadiums anymore, maybe something different. You can’t go around in lemon-yellow tights forever."
The 66-year-old musician - who is famed for his hard partying - has also laughed off speculation he has given up alcohol.
He joked: "Listen, the rumours of my sobriety are greatly exaggerated. And we’ll leave it at that!

Well, unless you are living in a hole with Osama Bin Laden, you know the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl!
This was the Saints first time at a Super Bowl, so the victory was just a little sweeter. The Saints overcame an early 10-point deficit, pulled off a risky onside kick and won their FIRST NFL title by beating the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 Sunday night. Drew Brees, the quarterback for the Saints, tied a Super Bowl record for completions and was voted the game’s MVP, while the Saints held Peyton Manning to a single score in the final three quarters, intercepting him for a touchdown that sealed the victory.
Drew Brees said, “Four years ago, who ever thought this would be happening when 85 percent of the city was under water? Most people left not knowing if New Orleans would ever come back, or if the organization would ever come back. We just all looked at one another and said, `We are going to rebuild together. We are going to lean on each other.’ This is the culmination in all that belief.”
Sean Payton, head coach for the Saints, stated,”we really felt as underdogs we had the better team. To be in that position where maybe a lot of people were picking against us, we liked the spot we were in.”
Although Peyton Manning said the loss for the Colts was “disappointing,” he could appreciate what the end result meant to Louisiana. Manning said, “I certainly know how it was three years ago when we won. I know the people of New Orleans and the Saints have that same feeling right now.”
The Saints played awesome, and the Colts played terrible. I don’t understand why these players can’t just say,”we worked our asses off…we deserve this!!” Why must they always acknowledge Hurricane Katrina?! Katrina didn’t give them football knowledge. Katrina didn’t train their asses when they were young for this moment. Are they saying Katrina gave them heart and dedication? Are they saying it took a hurricane for them to get heart and dedication for a sport they should LOVE and get paid a f*ck ton for?! WRONG answer. It shouldn’t take a hurricane to give you heart and dedication for your sport, your team, or your town/state!
I think they need to quit with the sympathy vote…they don’t need it. The Saints are good…they have proven that. At the end of the day, what do Katrina survivors have? A great football team!
CONGRATS to the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS!!! The Saints deserved this win!!

Warren Sapp a former NFL star was arrested in Miami on charges of misdemeanor domestic battery TMZ is reporting. Warren played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Oakland Raiders during his 13 year professional career. Warren was on "Dancing With The Stars" season 7 where he places second. He is in Miami for the Super Bowl and serves as an analyst for the NFL Network and on Showtime’s "Inside the NFL."
This is not the first problem Warren has had because of his hard-hitting style of play and his occasional verbal outbursts, both on the field and off. Some of these resulted in NFL fines, and he was once ejected from a game for unsportsmanlike conduct.
The NFL Network released a statement saying they were aware of the incident and that Sapp will not appear on the NFL Network until they review the matter. Photo: Fame Pictures
